Obituary

Wilma Jean Dotson, 92, of Zanesville, Ohio formerly of Crooksville, Arizona and Hendersonville, Tennesee died at 5:57 AM, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Primrose Retirement Community surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 20, 1929 in Cumberland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Hobart Fred Higdon and Grace (nee: Creech) Higdon McCurry.

Wilma was a homemaker, a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family as only she could do best.  She was a member of Carnation Chapter #167 Order of Eastern Star.

Left behind to mourn her passing is her beloved husband of 68 years, Joe Pat Dotson; her children and their spouses, Lavonna Gayle and Tom Stoneburner, Rebecca Ann and Tom Sweeney and Joe and Lori Dotson; her grandchildren, Craig and Marecia Stoneburner, Lisa Oakley, Jodi Dotson (Shane Fox), Todd Dotson (Christy Ater), Michael and Jessica Sweeney, Lance Sweeney and Troy Sweeney (Taylor German); her great grandchildren, Andrew Buchanan, Aidan and Maddy Tatum, Kendal, Cadance and Spencer Stoneburner, Emma and Lane Sweeney, Caitlyn Fox and Romee Sweeney.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her siblings, Gaynel Higdon, Annette Dixon, Molly Jeanette Ingram and Gilbert Higdon and her step-father, Alfred McCurry.

Private family visitation and graveside service will be held.  Wilma will be laid to rest in Community Gardens Cemetery near New Lexington.
