William Darrell Lyons, Sr.

William Darrell Lyons, Sr., 61 of Crooksville died in the afternoon hours of Saturday, October 3, 2021, at Genesis Hospital following a month-long battle with COVID-19.

He was born one of four children on December 7, 1959, in Beauty, Kentucky to the late Kennis and Margaret (Maynard) Lyons.

Darrell was the family handyman, a tinkerer by trade, he enjoyed fixing cars and anything else he could. He was thrilled by slot machines, always hoping to hit it big one day. Though Darrell had many troubles in life, he was able to fight his addiction, get clean and be the man everyone in life loved. He always said, having grandkids was the best thing to happen to him, it forced him to grow-up. Darrell adored his children, and later his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was Grandpa Darrell to everyone in the family and he loved it. He always put his kids and grandkids first, fighting fiercely on their behalf for everything in life. His loyalty to family and friends was unquestionable and he would always do anything he could for others.

Left behind to mourn his death are his wife of 16 years, Tammy (Savage) Lyons, his kids, Brian (Megan) Paul, Natalie Lyons, Kayla Paul, William Lyons Jr., Kennis Lyons, Robert (Tonya) Sartin and his bonus daughter, Diana (Tony) Bateson; his siblings, Debbie Lyons and Duane Lyons; his grandkids, William Lyons III, Taylor (Hanna) Lyons, Landon Paul, Pyper Paul, Malika Paul, Davie Paul, Averie Paul, Autum Paul, Katylin Sartin, Robert Sartin, Jr., Heather Sartin, Hanna Sartin, Zander Lyons and Logan Lyons. As well as his darling great-grandkids, Jensen Lyons and Krew Lyons and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Reagan Ann Marie Lyons; his mother-in-law, Corabelle Savage and his sister, Dottie Allen.

Friends may call on the Lyons family from, 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 7, at the funeral home with Pastor Anthony Richard officiating. Darrell will be laid to rest in Crooksville Cemetery.
