Vera Eileen (Hughes) Jeffers

Vera Eileen Jeffers, 90, of Roseville, Ohio died at 1:30 PM, Monday, January 24, 2022 at Altercare of Zanesville.

She was born October 5, 1931 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of the late William and Ina (Johnson) Hughes.

Eileen was a former employee of Koch Engineering (formerly the Knight Pottery) in Crooksville.  She had attended Christian Nation Church in Zanesville.  Eileen was a fantastic cook and she enjoyed preparing fine meals for her family. She also enjoyed shopping, reading and camping.  Eileen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her children and their spouses, Ruth and Robert McClain and Steve and Holly Jeffers; her siblings, Robert (June) Hughes,  Judy Huffman, Terri Sue Rodgers, Vick Vance and William Hughes; her grandchildren, Valerie Dusenberry Worthington, Heather Smith, Sherrie Norris, Corey Lewis and Steve (Gretchen) Jeffers; her great-grandchildren, Kayla Lewis, Sophia Norris, Joshua(Amber) Lewis, Justin (Emily) Lewis, Jordan (Abby) Lewis, Jaden Lewis, Finn Jeffers, Kol Jeffers, Max Jeffers, Bruklynne Slack, Hannah Worthington, Gage Harris, Storm Smith and Chayse Smith; her great great-grandson, Lorenzo and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jeffers who died November 25, 1993; her beloved daughter, Sherry Dusenberry who died in 1979; her brother, Richard Hughes and her brother-in-law, Art Huffman.

The family will hold a private funeral for Eileen.  She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Iliff Cemetery in McLuney.
