Tommy Lynn Dillinger

May 2, 1949 — May 24, 2020

Tommy Lynn “Tink” Dillinger, 71, of Crooksville died in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the Mount Carmel East Hospital following a brief illness.

Tink was born one of six sons on May 2, 1949 in Zanesville to the late Clarence and Virginia Moody Dillinger.

Lt. Cpl. Dillinger was a lifelong and dedicated Marine. He took immense pride in his years of service to this country, serving honorably as a rifleman in the United States Marine Corp during the height of the Vietnam War. Tink spent so much of his time surrounded by his fellow veterans in the Buckeye Lake VFW Post 1388 and the former Crooksville Fraternal of the Eagles. In his continued service to the public, Tink volunteered as an EMT for the Crooksville Village Fire Department. In his free time, Tink enjoyed fishing in all the local spots. To those who knew Tink would not hesitate to say he was a very strong-minded man, set in his beliefs and leanings and would never be afraid of engaging you a political debate.

Surviving Tink in life are his children, Jennifer Sims Dillinger of Newark, Denise (Ken) McDonald of Virginia and Thomas Dillinger of Zanesville; his brothers, Terry (Rhonda) Dillinger of Roseville and Tim (Lois) Dillinger of Crooksville and his grandchildren, Tristen Lane, Kevin Farrell, Sophie Dillinger, Laylah King and Nicholas McDonald.

In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Dillinger, Leslie Dillinger and Denzil Dillinger.

In keeping with his wishes, Tommy will be privately cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Crooksville Village Park where full military honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps in conjunction with members of the American Legion Post 222 and VFW Post 9090.
