Lee Brooks died September 28, 2022, at Columbus Healthcare and Ohio Hospice surrounded by loving volunteers and her sister Joan and brother-in-law, Harold and is now at peace and resting with our Heavenly Father.

She had suffered several strokes in recent years. Born November 11, 1951, in Zanesville the daughter of Dick and Jean Brooks. Formerly of Crooksville, she had lived most of her life in the Columbus area working at the Columbus Police Department and the Columbus Dispatch. In her younger years, she was very active in AA sharing her journey through inspirational speaking and being a shining light to others through service. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Columbus.

She leaves her sisters Joan (Harold) Riggle, Cindy (Andy) Maxwell, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lynn and dad and mom. She loved animals, (especially horses, dogs, and cats), music, dancing, reading, family, and friends. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile. She was loved and cared for by the staff of Columbus Healthcare and Ohio Hospice.

Graveside services will be held November 14 at 11am at the Crooksville Cemetery where she will be interred with her twin sister, Lynn who died May 12, 2016. There will be a gathering at the First Hope United Methodist Church after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Ohio Hospice, 800 McConnell Dr., Columbus, Ohio, 43214.
