Helen May Schooley, 90, of Crooksville, Ohio died at 2:15 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 17, 1931 in Morgan County, the daughter of the late George and Catherine J. (nee: Theisen) Smith.
Helen was a former employee of United Technologies where she worked for 20 years and then spent 6 years working at PCC Airfoils in Crooksville. She was a member of Church of The Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville. She enjoyed taking pictures of her family and anything special that caught her eye. She loved animals and had many pets over the years. But most important to her was her family whom she dearly loved. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her husband, children and anyone that needed her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Left behind to mourn her passing are her children, Lorri Antonetz, Beth (Rusty) Mohler, Mary (Mike) Lundell, Michael J. (Mary) Schooley, Craig (Dawn) Schooley, Paul Lee (Marge) Schooley, James (Karen) Schooley, Andrew J. (CJ) Schooley, John Scott Schooley, Matthew (Sarah) Schooley and Danny Joe Schooley; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
In aaddition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Schooley who died September 7, 1991; her children, Susan Schooley, Kelly Schooley, George Schooley and Len Schooley; her grandson, Wesley Schooley and her siblings, Howard, Harry, George, Jay, Wayne and Bill Smith and Emily Agin.
The family will hold a private funeral for Helen. She will be laid to rest next to her husband and children in St. Joseph Cemetery near Crooksville. Deacon Mark Weiner will minister to the family in their time of need.
