George W. Colvin III of Brady, Texas passed away June 17, 2021, in San Angelo, Texas following complications from an emergency surgery.
George was born March 23, 1979 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio to his parents George W. Colvin Jr., and Garnet Runyon Colvin.
Upon graduation from Miller High School in 1997 in Hemlock, Ohio, George enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he continued to proudly serve his country. Following his discharge from the military he began an extensive career as a cross country truck driver, working as a vital component in the functioning of our society. His most recent business endeavor was the collaboration and promotion of 4-S Trucking Company with his best friend Jason, where George lived and worked in Brady, Texas.
In addition to his parents, George is survived by his sister Tina (Chris) Welch; his son Matthew and granddaughter Adalee Colvin; nephew Nate (Keeley) Bateson; multiple nephews, great niece and lastly his favorite niece/best friend and partner in crime Alyssa (Cody) Burns.
Along with family members, George leaves behind a multitude of friends who all share a common bond of loving his larger than life personality. These individuals span the entire United States and were equally important in George’s life. The list is immense, but of these, there are a select group of individuals from Brady, Texas who took George in like family many years ago and continue to this day to cherish and love him as their own. These include George’s best friend Jason (Samantha) Strain and their family, Miguel (Marielena) Muniz and family, and John and Judy Trosper. Another true, lifelong friend is his dearest Donna Allison, who repeatedly showed her devotion and love for George and his well-being over the years. And lastly, George recently acquired a rescue dog, Sully, who became his best friend and companion unlike any he had before.
George is preceded in death by his two infant brothers, John W. and Duane E., his grandmother Bess Colvin, and Uncle Fred Colvin. Even though George is no longer with us and will be missed terribly, it brings us great comfort and joy to know he is surrounded by them and that he will now continue to look over us in the days ahead, just as they have done for so many years.
Friends and family are encouraged to visit and mourn George’s passing from 10:00am-1:00pm on Friday June 25, 2021 at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36. N. Buckeye St., Crooksville.
