Garnett P. Baker, 91, of Roseville, Ohio died at 1:35 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Genesis Healthcare Hospital in Zanesville.
She was born October 2, 1931 in Roseville, the daughter of the late Blair and Kathleen (nee: Ziegler) Hockingberry.
Garnett was retired from PCC Airfoils in Crooksville where she worked as a parts inspector. In her leisure time, she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. She was a very accomplished cook and pie maker and in the past, made all the pies for her daughter’s restaurant. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens.
Garnett’s legacy will live on in her family, through her children, Creta ‘Peach’ and Joe Burkhart, Alan ‘Butch’ Baker (Diana Bobb) , Timothy and Pam Baker and Kim and Debbie Baker; her grandchildren, Ginger (Jim) Thomas, Dash (Ashlee) McNeal, Alex (Krista) Baker, Bailey Baker (Mark Payton) and Teresa (Jeremy) Joseph; her great grandchildren, Jena and Jera Thomas, Kipplyn, Krew and Krome McNeal, Tyler, Ava and Amelia Joseph, Nixon and Nolan Payton and Charleston Baker and her sisters, Lynda Cobel and Pamela (Roger) Wise.
In addition to her parents, Garnett was preceded in death by her husband, Billy B. Baker who died September 15, 2013 and her siblings, Benny, Denny, Dale and Larry Hockingberry, Sue Mercer and Creta Moorehead.
Family and friends may visit and pay their final respects 5-8 PM, Monday, December 19, 2022 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 20 at Rose Hill Cemetery where Garnett will be laid to rest next to her husband.
