Dorsey Rolland “Scotty” Satterfield was born on May 31, 1931, and peacefully died on January 15, 2023.
He was born in Glenford, Ohio to Milby Freemont Satterfield and Zetta Cecil Hayslip-Satterfield. Scotty lost his oldest son Steven on March 24, 2001, and his wife, Sylvia Mae Ayers-Satterfield on July 13, 2013.
Scotty was a deeply faithful man to his wife, family, and his God. He was well known for expressing his love for God through music. The lead guitarist for the First Assembly of God Church in Zanesville, Scotty displayed his faith prominently through song. He was a hard worker, to support and raise his family he spent 42 years working for Kaiser Aluminum.
Scotty leaves behind two daughters, Susan (Doug) Johnson of Lake Mary, Florida and Sallie Robinson (Robert Franklin) of Crooksville; his son, Scott E. Satterfield (Amy Murphy) of Crooksville; his daughter-in-law, Noreen Satterfield of Crooksville; his seven grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Julie Johnson and Kristen Unger all of Lake Mary, Florida, Nathan (Kym) Satterfield, Kayla (Nathan) Lindimore, both of Crooksville, Eric Satterfield (Samantha Fleming), of Crooksville, Ashley Satterfield (Peter LLorente) of Zanesville; his great-grandchildren, Cole, Clayton and Kamryn Satterfield, McKayle and Makreedy Lindimore, Liam and Mason Satterfield all of Crooksville, October “Tobi” Alexander of Virginia, and Theodora “Teddi” Unger of Sanford Florida. As well as, his brother, Rodger Satterfield of Zanesville
In addition to his parents, son, and wife, preceding Scotty in death are his three brothers, Ray, Morris and Rodney Satterfield, as well as his sisters, Eileen Shaffer, Jean Stewart and Phyliss DeLong.
Friends and family will be received from 5-8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 19 at the funeral home with Rev. Carolyn Hoskinson officiating. Scotty will then be buried next to his wife Sylvia in Iliff Cemetery.
