David A. Wheeler,76, of New Lexington, Ohio died in the evening hours of Monday, January 25, 2021 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville with his love ones by his side.
He was born in Saltillo to the late Dorus and Nellie (Saxton) Wheeler on December 29, 1944. David loved going to bingo, watching western movies, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In David’s many years, he adopted more and more “grandchildren” has he would call it. His favorite name that he liked to be called was Grandpa.
Left to mourn David’s passing are his children, Frances (Roger “Junior Bob”) White, Tammy (Donald Crane) Thorp, Frederick (Lenna) Kinney, Lisa Kinney; a fur child named, Paige Marie; his grandchildren, Ashley, David, Nicole, Kimberly, Warren, Kayla, Emily, Jennifer, David, Megan, Raymond, Freddie, Angel, Maria, Kimmie, Jodie, Amber, and John; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Lacey, Zoey, Adelaide, Kaiden, Bentley, Danielle, Layla, Lorenzo, Gage, Orion, Anastasia, Adalynn, John Jr, Damian, and Landon and one on the way; his brother, Jim Dale (Cora Jean) Wheeler; a nephew that was raised like a brother, Gene Wheeler; and a very special friend Dean Nelson.
David was preceded in death by his brothers Howard, Donald, Jack, and Harold Wheeler; and his sisters Freda, Iris, Susie, Anna, and Delorse; his first wife, Helen who died March 4, 2001, his second wife, Merribelle (Ervin) Wheeler who died Dec. 26, 2017; his sons, David Wheeler, James Kinney, Charles Kinney; a grandson, Frederick II; and a very loving daughter-in-law, Amy Wheeler.
Family and friends may visit to pay respects 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, January 28 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM with Peggy Kinney as celebrant. Following the services, David will be cremated.
