Charles "Bur" Kinney

Charles Elmer “Bur” Kinney, Jr., 56, of New Lexington died on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

He was born March 29, 1963 in Columbus, the son of the late Charles Kinney, Sr. and Merribelle (nee: Ervin) Kinney Wheeler.

Bur was a very fun-loving guy who was loved by many family and friends for his personality and willingness to help anyone he possibly could.  His hobbies were reading comic book--with special enjoyment of the Marvel comics, watching sci-fi movies and taking long walks.

He is survived by his sister, Lisa Kinney of New Lexington; his brother, Fred (Lenna) Kinney, Sr. of Corning; his girlfriend, Teresa Redfern of Roseville; his step-father, David “Pops” Wheeler of New Lexington; his step-sisters, Tammy Thorp and Frances White, both of New Lexington; eight nieces, four nephews, six great-nephews and seven great-nieces.

Bur was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Kinney; his nephew, Frederick Kinney II and his step-brother, David Wheeler, Jr.  He will be missed by many.

Friends and family will be received, 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. A celebration of life will follow at 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Following funeral services, Bur will be cremated and be held with his family.

Memorial donations may be made in Bur’s memory to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
