Obituary

Ann Etta Zinn, 95, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 6:26 PM, Sunday, April 16, 2023 at New Lexington Healthcare and Rehabilitation facility following an extended illness.

She was born Tuesday, September 20, 1927 in Roseville, the daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle (nee: Rarick) Sands Pangle.

Ann Etta was a former pottery worker at the Crooksville China Company.  On July 19, 1946, she married Bob Zinn and they started a family together.  Ann Etta enjoyed caring for her family, cooking and baking their favorite things, especially the best apple pie.  At one time, she was President of the Crooksville Band Boosters, working to support the high school band.  She was an avid bowler, bowling on leagues at The Alpine Bowling Lanes in Crooksville and Maysville Lanes.  Later in life, she enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with her special dear friend, Forest Schooley.  Ann Etta was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roseville.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her sons and daughter-in-law, Robin Zinn and Sam and Jody Zinn; her grandchildren, Aaron (Kalie) Zinn and Christopher Zinn (Amber McClanahan); her great grandchildren, Preston, Parker, Annabelle and Elsie Zinn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Zinn who died July 29, 2002; her siblings, Charles ‘Chike’ Sands, James ‘Driz’ Sands, Roy and Ray Sands (twins) and Martha Lee Cannon.

Family and friends may visit to pay respects 5-8 PM, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 19 at the funeral home with Pastor Marc Caton as celebrant.  Ann Etta will be laid to rest next to her husband at Crooksville Cemetery.

The Zinn family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at New Lexington Healthcare and Rehab, especially Louise, Cheryl and Aisha and Hospice of Central Ohio for the wonderful care the took of their mother.
