William E. Cavinee

William E. Cavinee, 84 of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 9:15 AM, Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.

Bill was born July 5, 1928 in Oakfield, the son of the late Pearl and Carrie Beatrice Cavinee.

He had worked as a superviser and truck driver for National Plumbing and Muskingum Mines and several other companies. He retired from the Crooksville School system where he served as a custodian. Bill was an avid baseball player and coach of youth and adult teams throughout the area. He was inducted into the Perry County Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
Bill served our country during WW2 in the US Navy.

Bill is survived by his children and their spouses, Marsha and Rick Smith, Mary and Craig Brannon, Missy and Doug Lundell, Marilyn and Stewart Murray and Michael and Marcia Cavinee all of Crooksville; his brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Leanna Cavinee of Crooksville; his grandchildren, Amy Smith-Hartley, Chad(Kristi) Smith, Jeremy(Shannon) Brannon, Jamey(Darla) Brannon, Jenny(Shane)Johnson, Michelle(Thomas) Collins, Maria(John)Thompson, Michael Cavinee, Trisha(Greg) McKenzie, Kayla(Logan) Stipes, Colt (Sara) Lundell, Johnny Lundell, Billy(Angel) Murray, Brooke(Heath) Kern, and Blake Murray and twenty-two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Brown Cavinee who passsed away May 5, 2010; his grandson, Scottie Smith; his sisters, Rita Shepherd and Wanda Paxson and his brothers, Kenneth, Otis, Earl and Audrey Cavinee.

Family and friends will be received 4-8 PM, Thursday, March 21 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Bill's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 22 with Pastor Gay Blau officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, OH 43701. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
