Wayne R. Woodward

Wayne R. Woodward, 76, of Deavertown, Ohio passed away suddenly at 12:30 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his residence.

Wayne was born January 16, 1936 in Deavertown, the son of the late Floyd Woodward and Bernice Russell Woodward Landerman.

Wayne served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After he was discharged for the Army, he went to work for Hoosier Power Company erecting highline power lines across the United States. He later worked for Central Ohio Coal Company from which he retired in 1994. Mr. Woodward was a member of Doric Lodge 172 F. & A.M.of Deavertown, Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Eastern Star Carnation Chapter 167 and V.F.W. Post 9090, Crooksville-Roseville.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marlene Watts Woodward and his son, Rodney W. Woodward of Deavertown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Woodward Newton and his step-father, Ralph Landerman.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Monday, October 29 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where Doric Lodge 172 will hold masonic services at 8:00 PM. Funeral services and a celebration of Wayne's life will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 30 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Penrod officiating.
Burial will follow in Deavertown Methodist Cemetery with full military honors.
