Wanda J. Maier, 78 of Crooksville died at 2:49 PM, Friday, June 11, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born June 16, 1931 in Deavertown the daughter of John & Gladys (Neff) Wood. She married Ralph Maier on February 7, 1947 and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Wanda was a loving and adoring wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and greatly enjoyed her sewing creations. Wanda was an avid reader and enjoyed the time she spent traveling with her husband.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, Wanda is survived by one son: John Maier of Crooksville; seven grandchildren: Mark (Stacy) Porcher of Colorado; Kim Voorheis of Willington, SC; BJ Porcher of California; Nikki (Jerry) Shumaker of Colorado; John (Andrea) Maier of Canal Winchester; Scott (Brittany) Maier of Texas and Lynn Jennings of Zanesville; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters: Joyce Fracker of Crooksville and Sandy Geyer of Zanesville; four brothers: Tommy (Carol) Wood of Newark, Jerry (Jeanette) Wood of Crooksville, Ivan Wood of MO. and Richard Wood of Arizona and one sister-in-law: Dorothy Wood of Porterville.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter: Janice Porcher and one brother: John Wood.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 13, 2010 at First Hope United Methodist Church, Buckeye Street, Crooksville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, June 14, with Rev.
