Virginia W. Redfern

Virginia Winifred Redfern, 90, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 3:15 AM, Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at New Lexington Care and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.

Virginia was born April 27, 1923 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Mary Devlin O'Leary.

She retired from PCC Airfoils in Crooksville. She was a member of Church of The Atonement Catholic Church, also in Crooksville.

Virginia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cecelia Johnson of Hebron, Judy and Jimmy Brown of Harker Heights, Texas, Nancy & Doug Gordon and Kathleen & Dow Cannon, all of Crooksville, Laura & Ed Buck and Rita Redfern, all of Apple Creek; sons and daughters-in-law, Fred & Cris Redfern of Crooksville, Mark & Kaye Redfern of Zanesville, John Redfern, Jr. of Apple Creek, Marty & Laura Redfern of Roseville, Steve Redfern of Apple Creek, Brent Redfern of Crooksville and Ron Redfern of Waldwick, New Jersey; 23 grandchildren; nineteen great- grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Connie Conroy of Pembroke, Massachusetts and Gertrude Triller of New York and her brother, Robert O'Leary of Massachusetts.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Redfern, Sr., who passed away October 18, 2004; her daughter, Maureen Wilson; her granddaughter, Ronda Pennington; her sisters, Marie O'Leary, Eleanor Cronin and Jeanette O'Leary and her brother, Francis O'Leary.

Family and friends will be received 2:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 1, at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where a Christian Wake Service and Rosary will be recited at 8:00 PM.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2 at Church of The Atonement Catholic Church, 310 Winter St., Crooksville with Father James Csaszar as celebrant. Virginia will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, south of Crooksville.
