Vicki Jean Goebel

Vicki Jean Goebel, 80, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at 7:12 PM, Friday, September 5, 2025 at Mt. Carmel Grove City Hospital after a brief illness.  She was born April 18, 1945 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Tom Kyer and Charlotte (nee: Brigham) Kyer.  Vicki had spent many years as a teachers’ aide, in the Columbus City School System where she had served in that capacity in many different schools in the system. She attended Parkview United Methodist Church in Columbus. In her leisure time, she enjoyed creating beautiful ceramic keepsakes for her family members. She enjoyed reading and loved watching the Hallmark movies on television. But most importantly, Vicki loved her family, spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her legacy will live on in the ones she has left behind and she will be greatly missed by them.  Left behind to mourn her passing are her daughters and son-in-law, Nancy and Larry Kirby, Lisa Goebel and Jackie Adair; her siblings, Shirley Pittinger, Herschel (Melissa) Grey and Chuck (Cindy) Kyer; her beloved grandchildren, Michael (Torie) Kirby, Zachary (Jamie) Kirby, Steven Owens, Stephanie (J.D.) Perry, Aarronn (Sydney) Adair and Beau Adair and her adored great-grandchildren, Kadence, Kaleb, Caylee, Jordyn, Kynlee, Kendyl, Cole and Kaison.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike E. Goebel who passed away December 19, 1998; her grandson, Joshua Kirby and siblings, Tom Kyer and Connie Burchwell.  Family and friends may visit and pay respects 1:00-5:00 PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 10 at Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe with Pastor Mike Lape as celebrant. Following the service, Vicki will be laid to rest next to her husband in Grandview Cemetery, Chillicothe.
