V. Maxine Denman nee Kemerer, 89, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville and N. Fort Myers, Florida passed away at 1:05 A.M., Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Genesis Extended Care and Rehab Center in Zanesville following an extended illness.
She was born on April 28, 1920 in Crooksville the daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (nee Brunton) Kemerer. Maxine graduated from Crooksville High School as well as Meredith Business College in Zanesville after which she worked in banking for several years. In 1943, she married Charles "Junior" Denman and they raised their family in Crooksville. In later years, Maxine worked as a school secretary for Bearfield School which is part of the Crooksville School District. She was a member of Maple Ave. Christan Church in Crooksville and had been an active member of the local Eastern Star Chapter for many years. Following their retirements, Maxine and Junior lived in Florida for many years. Maxine had many talents, she was a painter and loved all types of crafts like knitting, crocheting, basket-making and sewing. She was an avid reader and loved to watch all types of sports on TV. Following her husband's death, she returned to Zanesville to make her home near her son.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Dee (Thomas) Martin of Lorain, Terri (George) Michael of Martinsburg, WV and Molly (Ronald) Kreuter of Mansfield; her son, Jud Denman of Zanesville; her brother, Donald Kemerer of Zanesville; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles "Junior" Denman who died February 5, 2001; one grandson, Paul Michael; three sisters, Barbara Dalrymple, Margene Thompson and Theda Coleman and one brother, Merle Kemerer.
In keeping with Maxine's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service and celebration of Maxine's life will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 27 with the family receiving visitors at 12 noon at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Pastor Conard Wolf will officiate the service and burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery beside her beloved husband.
