Thomas B. Gossman, 91, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 12:45 PM, Monday, April 3, 2017 at New Lexington Care & Rehab Center following an extended illness.

Tom was born May 8, 1925 in Deavertown, Morgan County, the son of the late John F. and Catherine Guinsler Gossman.

He was a self-employed building contractor, remodeling and building many homes in the area. Tom was a member of Church of Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville and he volunteered his services to his church by mowing the church's cemetery, St. Joseph Cemetery, for many years. He served our country in the US Army in WW2 having participated in action at Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Tom was a member of Crooksville-Roseville VFW Post 9090 and the American Legion Post 222 in Crooksville.

Tom is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary L. Allton Gossman who passed away March 17, 1992; his brothers, Lawrence 'Buck', Edwin 'Banjo', Clarence 'Windy', Charles 'Doc' and Joseph 'Joe' Gossman; his sisters, Margaret 'Maggie' Lyons, Florence 'Posie' Dusenberry, Ada 'Tater' Lyons, Grace Gossman and Josephine Hazen.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, April 5 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where a Rosary, led by Deacon Mark Weiner, will be recited at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 6 at Church of The Atonement Catholic Church, 300 Winter St., Crooksville with Father C. M. Haddad as celebrant. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery with full military honors.

Contributions may be made in Tom's memory to Church of The Atonement Catholic Church, 309 N. Main St., New Lexington, OH 43764 or Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, OH 43701. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
