Rosie Margaret Wooley

Crooksville

Rosie Margaret Wooley, 94, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, following a battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born on May 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Richard and Edna (Kirkbride) Post.

Rosie lived a life marked by independence, devotion, and quiet generosity. She retired from the Southern Local School District after 34 years as a school bus driver, a role that was far more than a job to her. Driving the bus was her passion, and she gave those years with commitment and care. Rosie also found great joy in working with her hands. She loved crafting in many forms, including crocheting, knitting, and plastic canvas. She became especially well known for the crocheted slippers she made for so many, sharing warmth and kindness in a way that became part of how people remembered her. Through these simple but heartfelt gifts, she touched the lives of family, friends, and neighbors alike. Her faith was an important part of her life. Rosie was a religious woman and a member of the Church of Christ Christian Union in Millertown, where her beliefs helped guide the way she lived and cared for others.

Rosie is survived in life by her children, Myna (Carl) Roederer, Ronald Wooley, Jr., William Wooley (Terri Freeman), Archie Wayne (Cheri) Wooley; her sister-in-law, Wanda Post and sixteen grandchildren and many many great and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wooley, Sr.; her daughter, Louis Lynn Bumgardner; her son, Rodney Eugene Wooley; her grandson, Trevor Bumgardner; her siblings, Raymond Post and Katheryn (Charles) McFann and her daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Wooley.

Family and friends are invited to honor Rosie’s life during visitation on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Goebel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 36 North Buckeye Street, Crooksville, Ohio 43731.
