Roland S. Gibbs

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Roland S. Gibbs at the age of 82. A devoted family man, Roland held a special place in the hearts of his loved ones, cherishing every moment with his wife of 56 years, Carolyn (Buty) Gibbs; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and April Gibbs and his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Greg Hull.

Roland enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. His love for golfing, hunting, and fishing were only surpassed by his unwavering adoration for his grandchildren, Alex and Joshua Gibbs, and great-grandchildren, Ayden and MacKenzie Gibbs, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. Roland dedicated over 30 years of his life to the Central Ohio Coal Company. 

Roland will be dearly missed by his sisters, Paula Frazee and Dee Wright, along with the extended family and friends whose lives he touched.

Though Roland may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of his family's love.

Roland was preceded in death by his father and mother, Pearson and Pauline (Brown) Gibbs.

Family and friends may visit to pay respects 10-1 pm, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where funeral services will be held at 1 pm with Pastor Marc Caton as celebrant. Roland will be laid to rest in Oakfield Cemetery.
