Robert Lee "Bob" Robinson, Sr

Robert Lee "Bob" Robinson Sr, 83, of Roseville, passed away quietly with his family present at 8:21 AM on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.

Bob was born in Zanesville on December 23, 1929 to the late Ellis and Verna Whitehouse Robinson. The year of his birth was also the year of the stock market crash and the beginning of The Great Depression. For the next decade Bob lived among and survived the struggles of a society deeply affected by poverty and strife. Those hard times made him the man he was. Bob spent nearly his whole life in Southeastern Ohio although he did spend some of his youth traveling across America. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his family.

He worked many years for Higbys in New Lexington. Bob was a United States Army veteran who served in the Korean War, he was a member of the American Legion Post# 71, VFW 9090 and the Crooksville Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Lori Hammer, Cathy Robinson and Stacy Robinson; his sons, Robert Robinson, Jr., Mark Robinson, Phillip Robinson, Tracy (Marie) Robinson and Richard (Christi) Robinson; his sister Melba Ledebur; his eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife Lois Louise Robinson who passed away December 20, 2005; his brother Don Robinson and sister, Shelby Owens.

Family and friends will be received 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, December 2, 2013 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Crooksville next to his wife.
