Robert George Newlon, a cherished father and devoted member of the Crooksville community, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at his home. 

Born on January 20, 1935, in Crooksville, Ohio, George was a proud lifelong resident of the area.With a strong work ethic and commitment to his craft, George spent over two decades as a pottery worker at Nelson-McCoy Pottery. He poured his heart into his work, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected the artistry and spirit of his beloved town. Known for his warmth and sense of humor, George was a great father and friend. 

He will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure to know him George leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his daughters, Glena (Mike) Latier and Brenda (Tony) Smith; his sons, Scott Newlon and Keith (Luann) Newlon; his grandchildren, Stephen Neff, Melissa (Terry) Hosey, Amy (Glenn) King, Chad (Beth) Cramer, Chasity Cramer, Alissa Newlon, Heather (Keith) Clouston and Holly (Nick) Eltringham, as well as several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

George is preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Jones) Newlon who died March 29, 2002; his grandson, Kyle; his brothers, Marlon "Pete" Newlon and Carl "Buck" Newlon and his parents, Carl Sr. and Elizabeth (Harris) Newlon. 

Robert George Newlon will be buried in Mt. Horeb Cemetery next to his wife, Mary.
