Robert Eugene ‘Bob’ Hoffer, 77, of Crooksville, Ohio died at 10:42 AM, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 18, 1943 in Zanesville, the son of the late Bernard and Blanche Hoffer.
Robert was retired from Smeltzer’s Fiberglass Manufacture near Somerset. He was an avid NASCAR fan and actually got to ride in one of the cars at Charlotte Motor Speedway at the speed of 170 miles an hour which was the thrill of a lifetime for him. Robert served our country and defended our freedom in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife of 40 years, Myrna (nee: Harbaugh) Hoffer; his children, Marlene (Albert) Holmes, Sally Rupe, Sherry (Dave) Bobb, Shannon (Barney) Fowler, John (Pam) Adams and Shane Stickdorn; his siblings, Patricia (Carl) Smitley and John (Lorraine) Hoffer; his brother-in-law, Marty Channel; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Steven Adams; his brothers, Richard and Bernard Hoffer and his sister, Janey Channel.
The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where Covid-19 restrictions will be observed. Robert will be cremated following the visitation. Condolences can be shared at www.goebelfuneralhome.com
