Robert C. Higgins

March 17, 1956 — August 11, 2014

One year and one day after walking his daughter down the aisle and dancing at her wedding, Robert C. "Bob" "Bobby" Higgins, 58 of Roseville, Ohio died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted daughter, Lacey, his family and friends. His short but hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer ended on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 6:55 PM under the supportive care of Genesis Hospice.

Bob began his celebration of life on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1956, born in Zanesville, the son of the late Charles Roy and Marilyn (Cunningham) Higgins.

Bob was raised in the family business, Higgins Lumber Company in Ironspot. He worked alongside his sister, Cindy Mount and their parents. He most recently served as owner/president of that company, breathing new life and new ideas into the 57 year old business. He was a 1974 graduate of Philo High School. He was a member of various lumberman associations.

Bob built the home in which he lived and died. His daughter called it "his little piece of Heaven". He enjoyed entertaining and being surrounded by friends and family. He enjoyed cooking and never was another cook allowed in Bob's kitchen. He lived life to its fullest and had a variety of hobbies: muscle cars, Harley Davidsons, fishing, mushroom hunting, and music. Bob never did anything on a small scale, "Go big or go home" could have been his mantra.

Bob's pride and joy and the greatest love of his life was his daughter, Lacey (Andrew) Geyer, who made Bob's wishes come true to spend his final days at home. The second love of his life was his four-legged baby, Lexi. Also surviving is his sister, Cindy (Bill) Mount; his nieces, Missy (Kyle) Riggle and Jaime (Jason) Schaumleffel; his great niece, Madison Riggle, great nephew, Jacob Riggle and twin great niece and nephew, Leigha and Landon Schaumleffel. Bob was blessed to have many faithful friends/'brothers and sisters', Jeff Darrah, Bob Murphy, Boone Dunn, Gary Head and Myra Beisser, Dave and Denise Labaki, Steve Morgan, John Stottsberry, George and Doreen Street, Pat and Dorothy Goebel, Kurt Maxwell, Lonnie Moore and Connie Wilson, Doug and Debbie Geyer and Lacey's mom and step-dad, Mollie and Rodney Crooks.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Thursday, August 14 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Bob's life will be a 11:00 AM, Friday, August 15 at the funeral home with Stan McHenry officiating. Bob will be laid to rest next to his parents in Rose Hill Cemetery near Roseville.
