Robert David Bess

Robert David "DB" Bess, 56, of Crooksville, Ohio peacefully passed away at 6:20 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care Morrison House in Zanesville after a one month illness.

Dave was born February 3, 1958 in Zanesville, the son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Donaldson) Bess.

Dave served our country in the US Marine Corps.
He was a machinist at Aeriel Corporation in Mt. Vernon. He was a lifetime member of North American Fisherman Association.

Dave is survived by his wife of thirty years, Karen Spung Bess; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Andrew Matson of Athens; his sons, John Henry Bess (Summer Guffey) of Glouster and Dutch Michael Bess (Amanda Conaway) of Zanesville; his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Ron Inman of Roseville; his grandchildren, Olivia Matson and Alaiyna Bess and his beloved dog, Puggy.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Sunday, October 5 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Dave's life will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 6 at the funeral home with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery with full military honors.
