Richard 'Buck' Alan Skeenes

December 10, 1978 — June 1, 2018

Richard 'Buck' Alan Skeenes, 39, of Crooksville died at 5:52 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital following a month long battle with stage-four lung cancer.

He was born December 10, 1978 in Zanesville, the son of Warren and Diane (Brown) Skeenes of Crooksville.

Buck was employed as a pottery worker at Burley Clay Pottery in Roseville. He deeply loved and adored his children and all his family, he would spend his time with them going on four-wheeler and ATV rides and the occasional fishing trip. Buck was an outdoorsman, he very much enjoyed being out in nature and experiencing all that country living had to offer. Buck was also a tinkerer, he was always destroying or taking things apart, just to put it back together again--it was his way of figuring out how the world works and how to go about fixing it.

Buck leaves behind his parents; his darling children, Jaylynn Skeenes, Martina Holmes, Glisten Stanford, Avianna Iiams, Jacob Skeenes and Kelton Skeenes. He is also survived by his fiancée, Ashley Holmes; his brothers, Steven (Michelle) Skeenes and Tony (Jodi) Skeenes and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Buck in death are his maternal and paternal grandparents, Richard  Brown and Wilma 'Toots' Brown McMillan and Jesse and Nadine Skeenes.

The Skeenes family will be receiving friends 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services and a celebration of Buck's life will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 5 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Harper officiating. Buck will be laid to rest in Iliff Cemetery in McLuney .

The Skeenes family has extended an invitation to all friends and family to attend a meal held at the VFW in Crooksville following Buck's funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Bank where a final expenses fund has been established. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
