Richard L. Smith

Richard L. Smith, 68 of Crooksville, Ohio died at 8:22 A.M., Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville after an extended illness. He was born October 14, 1940 in Perry County, Ohio. Richard was a welder for White's Machine Shop in Zanesville. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard is survived by his wife of seven years, Gina Atwell Smith; his mother and step-father, Claudine Rosser (Charles) Appleman of Portersville; his daughter, Sheryl (Billy) Miller of New Lexington; his step-daughters, Angela Smith of Crooksville and Michelle (Jonathon) Sayre of Dayton; his sons, Richard (Debra)Smith, Jr. of Buckeye Lake and Lonnie Smith of Columbus; his sister, Mary Lou (James) Campbell of Avondale; his brothers, Harry Eugene "Sonny" (Sue) Smith of Roseville, George Robert "Bob" (Dana) Smith of McConnelsville, Ronnie Smith and Randy (Vicki) Smith all of Crooksville; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Harry Smith. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, September 15 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST, CROOKSVILLE and the funeral service will be held at 8:00 P.M. with Pastor Carolyn Hoskinson officiating. At the request of the family, cremation will follow.
