Raymond E. Potts

Raymond E. Potts, 68, of Crooksville, Ohio went home to be with his Savior Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville, surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness.

He was born March 15, 1948 in Zanesville, the son of the late Samuel Thomas Potts and Ina (Nelson) Potts Lemity.

Raymond retired after 43 years from Owens-Corning in Newark where he had worked as a machine tender and training coordinator. He was a member of Union Local 244. His hobbies included hunting and NASCAR, an avid fan of Dale Earnhart #3 car. He was Christian by faith. He served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Raymond is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 38 years, Linda (Higgins) Potts; his daughters, Jennifer Potts of Crooksville and Misty Jones of Crooksville and son-in-law, Richard Wintgens of Columbus; his son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Nikita Potts of Crooksville; his sisters and brother-in-law, Janet and Gary Sharkey and Mollie Potts, all of Crooksville; his brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Sharon Potts of Roseville and his grandchildren, Ryan, Seth (and his financee, Mariah Frash), Ethan and Noah Wintgens, Dirk Potts and Pyper Potts who was "Papaw's Little Angel".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Harry Lemity.

Family and friends will be received 4:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, March 27 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Raymond's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 28 at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Richard officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Portersville with military honors.
