Raymond E. Chink DeGarmo

Raymond E. 'Chink' DeGarmo, 77, of New Concrod, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville passed away at 11:59 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville following a brief illness.

Chink was born May 1, 1935 in Crooksville, the son of the late Hobart 'Chick' and Margaret Howell DeGarmo.

He retired from Rockwell International in Newark. Chink worked 6 years after retirement with his youngest son Steven at DeGarmo and Sons Stoneworks.
He was a former member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville where he served as a lay leader. Raymond was a member of the Guernsey County Horsemans' Club.

Chink is survived by his wife of nine years, Virginia McKnight DeGarmo; his sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Heather DeGarmo, Raymond Ernest DeGarmo, Jr. (Colleen Morehead) and Steven and Debbie DeGarmo all of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Brandon, Nathan, C.J., Carlee Rae, Eric, Luke and Mark; nine great grandchildren; his sisters, Eileen Jackson of Zanesville and Kay Feeney of Pryor Lake, Minnesota and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Marion and Patty DeGarmo of Zanesville and David and Connie DeGarmo of Crooksville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Herman, Robert and Richard DeGarmo and his sisters, Betty Klingler and Elizabeth Flynn.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Friday, January 11 at First Hope United Methodist Church, 102 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services and a celebration of Raymond's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 12 at the church with Rev. Gay E. Blau officiating. Cremation will follow.
