Ralph Edward Desarro, Sr

Ralph Edward Desarro, Sr., 82, of Roseville, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family at 1:30 AM, Monday, December 8, 2014 following an extended illness.

Ralph was born January 4, 1932 in Ironspot, the son of the late Rosario and Jennie Veno Desarro.

He had worked for Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery in Roseville, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard, was a member of the Crooksville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1979 in Crooksville and he was a member of the Church of The Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville. Ralph was an avid deer hunter and very much enjoyed bowling.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sarah "Sally" Pride Desarro of the home, his daughters, Debbie (Lee) Ungemach of Zanesville and Cheryl Gussler of Athens, Georgia; his sons, Ralph "Butch" (Susie) Desarro, Jr. of Crooksville and Jim (Christy) Desarro of Roseville; his eight grandchildren; his twelve great-grandchildren; his one great-great-granddaughter; his special grandchildren and caregivers, Corrie West and Tommy and Teresa Desarro.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Heather Desarro, his sisters, Catherine Head, Angela Miller and Roseann Smith; and his brothers, Patsy, Franklin, Jimmy, Johnny, Phillip and Tony Desarro.

Friends and family will be received, 2:00 PM-8:00 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE with Eagle's service at 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 12, at the Church of The Atonement Catholic Church, 300 Winter St., Crooksville with Fr. John Reade as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery near Crooksville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ralph's name to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forrest Ave., Zanesville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
