Paul D. Hinkle, Sr

Paul D. Hinkle, Sr., 75, of Portersville, Ohio passed away at 4:10 AM, Sunday, October 25, 2015 in the intensive care unit at The Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.

Born July 22, 1940 in Rose Farm, Paul was the son of the late Pearl and Mary (Click) Hinkle. He graduated from Deavertown High School in 1958 and went on to work at the Ford Motor Company in Lorain and Kaiser Aluminum in Heath. He retired after thirty years of ownership of Hinkle's Grocery in Portersville.

Paul was a Deacon at Rose Farm Church of Christ, a 52 year member and twice Past Master of Doric Lodge #172 F & A M of Deavertown, a member of Aladdin Shrine and Morgan County Shrine Club. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Ellen (Duff) Hinkle; his daughters, Rebecca (David) Fick of Michigan and Jennifer Hinkle of Athens; his sons, Jeffrey (Sherry) Hinkle of Michigan and P.J. (Karen) Hinkle of Malta,: a step-son, Troy Hina of Roseville: eight grandchildren: brother-in-law, Olaf 'Doc' Harris and sister-in-law, Joanne Hinkle.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Harris and Rita Maxine Hinkle and his brothers, Robert and Roger Hinkle.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, October 28 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where Doric Lodge #172 will hold Masonic services at 8:00 PM. Funeral services and a celebration of Paul's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 29 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in Portersville.
