Zanesville

Patricia Ann (Sharkey) Gibson of Zanesville, Ohio, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully in the evening of Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

Being one of six daughters of Clarence and Bonnie (nee: Wilson) Sharkey, she was born in Zanesville on the 23rd day of August, 1941.

Patricia was a former employee of the Lear Corporation where she was admired by her fellow workers for her work ethic and friendly attitude. She was renown as an impeccable homemaker as she loved to clean and paint her house to perfection.  Patricia was an avid bowler and thoroughly enjoyed playing dominoes and card games with her sisters and brothers-in-law.  She was dearly loved by her family and friends and her bright, fun and ornery personality will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved her.   At the nursing facility where she recently resided, she was affectionately known as ‘Princess’.

Patricia will be sadly missed by her beloved children, Kim Gibson and Chad Gibson; her devoted grandchildren, Kendra Tullius, Keela Tullius and Landon Gibson; her sweet great-grandchildren, Blaize Barlow, Murelle Ingram, Blayden Davis, Ryder Hill and Mylz Timberman; her adoring sisters, Sarah ‘Winnie’ Stalter, Shirley Snider and Marie Smith and her companion and special friend, Don Jordan.

Welcoming her into Eternity are her parents; her sisters, Sandy Beaty and Barbara Molitor and the father of her children, Virgil W. Gibson.

Patricia’s family has chosen to mourn her passing privately and their love for her and her legacy will live on and on.  She will be cremated and the family will hold a celebration of her life at some point in the future.

Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville has the distinct privilege of caring for Patricia and her family at this sad time.
