Olaf A. 'Doc' Harris

Olaf A. 'Doc' Harris, 84, of Sayre, Ohio passed away at 10:58 AM, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born December 3, 1931 in Redfield, Ohio, the son of the late Henry 'Buck' and Blanche (Larson) Harris.

Doc retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Newark after 42 years where he worked in the receiving and supply department. He was a 50 year member of Doric Lodge 172 F. & A.M. in Deavertown .

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Olaf 'Todd' and Joyce Harris of Sayre; his brothers, Henry 'Buck' (Shirley) Harris, Howard Harris, Gene (Bobi) Harris all of Crooksville, Bill (Nancy) Harris of Newark , Norman Harris of Indiana, and Dave (Fran) Harris of Zanesville; his grandchildren, Kyle, Josh, Corey, Walker and Autumn, many nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Wanda and Mary.

In addition to his parents, Doc was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Hinkle) Harris who passed away March 28, 2002; his daughter, Karen Harris; his son, Randy Harris and his brothers, Bob Larson and Jerry Harris.

Family and friends will be received 4:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, December 20 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Doc's life will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 21 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Portersville.
