Nancy M. Embrey, 81, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 10:10 AM, Monday, June 12, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare New Lexington Center following an extended illness.

She was born March 30, 1936 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Hannah (Neal) Bateson.

Nancy was a homemaker, a devoted wife to her late husband, Max, a loving and very attentive mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dearly loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition, she was a member of Iliff United Methodist Church in McLuney.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Wolfe of Crooksville; her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Karen Embrey of Crooksville; her sisters, Carolyn Bateson of Crooksville and Sue Ann Smith of Roseville; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Linda Bateson of Corning; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Kristi Embrey, Jenny (Embrey) and Mike Taylor, Abby (Wolfe) and Craig Nolte, Wesley and Shannon Wolfe and Nathan and Amista Wolfe, her twelve great grandchildren and several very special family members.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Max Embrey who passed away August 5, 2002 and her brothers-in-law, Harry ‘Sonny’ Smith, Freeman ‘Pete’ Funk and Charles 'Chuck' Derwacter.

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, she will be cremated. The family will hold a private memorial service at the funeral home and have invited Glenn Wishnew to eulogize Nancy. Burial will take place in Iliff Cemetery beside her beloved husband.
