Minnie E. Holmes

Minnie E. Holmes, 89, of Roseville, Ohio passed away at 8:40 AM, Monday, July 16, 2012 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville following a brief illness.

Minnie was born January 4, 1923 near Sayre, the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Addie Belle Flick Rodgers.

Mrs. Holmes retired after 39 years from United Technologies in Zanesville. She was a member of the New Lexington Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon & Walter Church of Roseville and Linda Uhrick (Charles Oehler) of Louisville, Kentucky; her sons, Wenzel & Marcia Holmes of New Lexington and David & Terrie Holmes of Roseville; fourteen grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos W. Holmes who passed away February 17, 1992; her daughter, Judy Pyle, her grandson, Addam Holmes; her brothers, Andrew, Elmer, Clarence, Harley and Thomas Rodgers and her sisters, Rosa Welch, Mary Taylor, Addie Belle Pettit and Golda Lewis.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, July 18 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Minnie's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 19 at the funeral home with Adrian Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Community Gardens Cemetery near New Lexington.
