Melvin H."Uncle Bud" Cunningham, 63, of Zanesville, formerly of Crooksville passed away at 11:12 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus following an extended illness.
He was born July 7, 1947 in Pomeroy, the son of the late Melvin L. and Minnie Leota Sayre Cunningham.
Melvin was retired from Ludowici-Celadon Tile Plant in New Lexington. He was a member of New Lexington Eagles and a former memeber of the Crooksville Fire Department.
Mr. Cunningham is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Melvin Eugene Cunningham(Lori Lawson) of Washington Court House and Paul David & Andrea Cunningham of Zanesville; his sisters, Agnes Donohue of Galipolis and Patricia Clevenger of Middleburg, Florida; four grandchildren, Emily Elaine, Benjamin Lee, Makala Dawn and Megan Elizabeth Cunningham and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Gillogly Cunningham who passed away March 5, 2003 and his sister, Linda Mashaw.
The Cunningham family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 PM., Sunday, March 27 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Melvin's life will be held at 11:00 Monday, March 28 at the funeral home with Pastor Thomas Locke officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery near Crooksville.
