Mary Jo Colligan, 63, of Elva St., Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 3:00 A.M., Saturday, April 3, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness.

She was born July 3, 1946 in Deavertown the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Olds Smith. Mary Jo had worked for twenty-two years as an x-ray technician at Hollywood Memorial Hospital in Florida. After moving back to Crooksville, she began a child care service which she operated for ten years forming special bonds with many local children and their families.

She is survived by her daughter, Dyan Colligan of Plantation, Florida; her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Tara Colligan of Lancaster; her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Clifford Wayne of Deavertown; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Dona Lou Smith of Crooksville and Mike and Meg Gieseke-Smith of Virginia; her sister-in-law and husband, Ann and Jerry Bonifant of Zanesville; her granddaughter, Brielle Colligan; and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Judy Harper and Molly Spring and brother, Larry Smith.

The Colligan family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 10 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. A Memorial service and celebration of Mary Jo's life will be held at 12 Noon with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating.
