Marlon T. Pete Newlon

Marlon T. Pete Newlon, 82, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away at 12:55 PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Rockmill Rehabilitation Center in Carroll following an extended illness.

He was born November 29, 1932 in Crooksville, the son of the late Carl and Elizabeth Harris Newlon.

Marlon proudly served our country for over forty years during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard 121st Tactical Fighter Wing at Rickenbacker Air Force Base in Ohio. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #11 in Lancaster, the AmVets in Lancaster, the Old Timers Club and a member of the Fairfield Community Church in Lancaster.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Scott Hubbard of Lancaster, his son and daughter-in-law, James and Debbie Newlon of Kokomo, Indiana; his brothers, Carl Newlon of Zanesville and Robert Newlon of Crooksville and his grandchildren, Jenny Newlon, Ryan Newlon and Grayson Hubbard.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia Ann Lewis Newlon who passed away June 9, 2011.

Friends and family will be received 10:00 AM-1:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2014 at the

GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services will start at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery in McLuney with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made in Marlon's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 3380 Tremont Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43221. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
