Marilyn S. Bentley

Marilyn Sue Bentley, 87, of Roseville, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville went to be with her Heavenly Father at 5:20 AM, Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at The Oaks in Bethesda in Zanesville.

She was born October 21, 1928 in Crooksville, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (Pace) Sowers.

Marilyn was a lifetime resident of Crooksville. She was currently a resident of The Oaks at Bethesda and leaves behind many loving friends, staff and family. She loved music, traveling, reading, dancing and hugs from her "family" at The Oaks. The staff there always knew when Marilyn was around because they could hear her "jamming" to the tunes. She was a former employee of Bryant Air Conditioning in New Lexington and the TRW Plant in Crooksville. She was Protestant by faith.

She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Paynter of Roseville and Steve (Lea) Bentley of Crooksville. Marilyn was grandmother of Lori (Jose) Peterson, Lisa (Mike) Peterson, Stacey (Kevin) Cannon, Dannon (Gabe) Offenberger, Adam (Rachel) Bentley and Jordan (Abbie) Bentley and great grandmother of Matthew, Alex, Kaitlyn, Scott, Alexandria, Addisyn, Juliet and Bridget and great-great grandmother of Jace.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Bentley who passed away April 17, 1994; her daughter, Lannie Sowers who passed away September 1, 2011; her granddaughter, Holly White; her sister, JoAnn Justice and her brothers, John Beverly Sowers and Lawrence Sowers, Jr.

Family and friends will be received beginning at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 12 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Carolyn Hoskinson officiating. Cremation will follow.
