Marie E. Alexander, 83, of Crooksville passed away at 6:20 PM, Friday, September 16, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born December 11, 1927 in Perry County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ivan E. and Helen M. Giles Baker.
Mrs. Alexander was a former employee of the Crooksville-Roseville Messenger and the Perry County Tribune. She was a member of the American Legion Post 222 Ladies Auxiliary in Crooksville. She was Protestant by faith.
Marie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Joy Alexander of Crooksville and Bruce and Paula Alexander of Hebron; her sister, Judy (Charles) Haley of Lancaster; her brothers, Fred (Nola) Baker and Ernie (Sharon) Baker all of New Lexington; her grandchildren, Bob (Kim) Alexander, Bryan (Jessica Tokie) Alexander, Brad (Etta Lunn) Alexander, Angela (Greg) Villinger and Adam (Jaclyn) Alexander and her great grandchildren, Makayla and Lacey Alexander, Marcus Lunn, Lafayette Potter, Nathaniel, Brian and Alex Villinger, Jack and Craig Alexander.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Alexander who passed away June 12, 1982; her sister, Mary Reiger and her brother, Raymond 'Bud' Baker.
The Alexander family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Monday, September 19 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Marie's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 20 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
