Margaret Irene (McGill) Young

Margaret Irene Young, a beloved homemaker and devoted mother, peacefully passed away on January 23, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on January 27, 1943, in Duncan Falls, to the late, Dwight and Georgia (Loggins) McGill. Margaret brought love, warmth, and laughter into the lives of her family and friends.

Margaret's love and deep-rooted faith in God were the foundation of her life, she made her home in Christ at the Norval Park Church of Christ. As a dedicated mother and grandmother, her greatest joy was found in nurturing and supporting her loved ones. With a tender heart and gentle spirit, Margaret created a home filled with love, where countless beautiful memories were made.

Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Timothy Young and Deborah Young, who will forever cherish their mother's guidance and unwavering support. She is also survived by her sister, Jane McDonald. Margaret's presence will continue to be felt through her cherished grandchildren: Jennifer (Shane) Pickenpaugh, Holli (Tyler Bryan) Young, Shelby (Kyle) Lozier, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kamdin and Kohen Bryan and Brantlee and Karalyne Pickenpaugh. She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Patricia Young and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Richard Day Young, who passed away September 6, 2021 and her sister and brother-in-law, Helen Jean and Howard Bobst. A woman of strength and resilience, Margaret believed in the power of community and the importance of lending a helping hand. Her compassion reached beyond her family, touching the lives of all who came to know her. Margaret's warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering support will be greatly missed by her extended family, friends, and the community she called home.

Margaret's life will be celebrated during a Funeral Service planned for January 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St. Crooksville. Prior to the service, friends and family are welcome to visit from 11:00 am until the time of services. Following funeral services, Margaret will be buried in Zion Cemetery in Portersville next to her husband, Richard.
