Mae A. Hoops of W. Main St., Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 3:40 P.M., Friday, June 5, 2009 at Adams Lane Care Center, Zanesville after an extended illness. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Franklin C. and Julia L. (Keith) Everhart. Mae retired after 27 years as a teller at the Community Bank in Crooksville. She was a member of the First Hope United Methodist Church where she had been a member of the choir for over 50 years and she was a former member of Eastern Star.
Mae is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Shirley Hoops of San Antonia, Texas, Jack and Anne Sprouse of
Granville, Ohio, and Robin T. and Dottie Hoops of South Carolina;
four grandchildren, Linda Kay (Randy) Hess, Tammara Mae (John)Frick, Leslie (John) Wallace and Brian Hoops; and five great grandchildren, Jared, Joel, Anthony, Austin and Troy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar D. Hoops, who died July 31, 2001; her sister, Dorothea Schatz and her great granddaughter, Chelsea Frick. Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M-2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at First Hope United Methodist Church, 102 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Gay Blau officiating and Bob Vogel to offer a eulogy. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery. GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville is assisting the family with arrangements.
