Linda L. Sims

March 6, 1940 — January 27, 2018

Linda Lee Sims, 77, of New Lexington, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ at 9:32 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster following a sudden unexpected illness.

She was born March 6, 1940 in Crooksville, the daughter of the late Wayne and Goldie (Adkins) Whitehouse.

Linda retired from The Kroger Company in New Lexington after 27 years of service. She was a member of First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville. Linda loved to quilt, crochet, paint and she was a superb baker. Linda also loved to travel, especially out West. She was fun-loving and always wanted to try new things.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Herbert Sims; her daughter, Erin Sims of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her sons, Scott Sims of Roseville and Erik Sims (Tiffany Carpenter) of Vincent; her grandsons, Brandon Sims and Nathan Sims of Crooksville; her sister, Kristi (Bill) Lawrence of Zanesville; her brother, Ron (Caryn) Whitehouse of Wylie, Texas and many dear extended friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Bebout.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, January 31 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Linda's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Zion Christian Union Church, 15834 Portie-Flamingo Rd. Corning (Portersville) with Rev. David Cady and Pastor Gail Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in Portersville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Linda's memory to First Hope United Methodist Church, 102 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville, OH 43731 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
