Larry M. Houk, 72, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 11:15 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville following an extended illness.

Larry was born December 4, 1939 in McLuney, the son of the late Ralph E. Houk and Annis Robinson Houk Price.

Mr. Houk had served our country in the US Army from 1961-1963. He retired from Rockwell International in Newark. Larry was a member of union Local 1037 UAW, Crooksville Eagles Aerie #1979 and American Legion Post 222 in Crooksville.
He attended First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville.

He is survived by his significant other, Joan Houk of Crooksville; his daughter, Deana Strathern of Oregon; his sons, Brad Houk and his fiancee, Lisa Plaisted both of New Lexington and Eric Houk (Tammy) of Crooksville; his sisters, Bonnie Jean Finnell (Don Bolyard), Carol Toney and Karen Sue and Jack Turner all of Crooksville; his brother, Gary and Vikki Price of Crooksville; his grandchildren, Jada, Tasha, Alex and Taylor.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond and Ralph Houk.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Tuesday, January 17 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Larry's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 18 at the funeral home with Pastor Gay E. Blau officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery with full military honors.
