Kevin Dean Pritchard, 69, of Crooksville died in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Genesis Hospital following a sudden cardiac event.
He was born on Friday, September 9, 1955, a son to the late Delmar "Dink" and Patricia "Pat" (Frame) Pritchard.
Kevin spent his entire life in the close-knit community of McCluney where he was raised on his family farm, a place that held deep significance for him throughout his years. From an early age, Kevin demonstrated an impressive work ethic and commitment to his family's values. At the age of 12, he began working at his family's grocery store, Frame's Market, where he would cultivate a lifelong dedication to service and community. His career path led him to become a respected motorcycle and utility vehicle salesman, a profession in which he thrived and gained the admiration of many. Kevin's contributions extended beyond his professional accomplishments; he was an inspiring coach for the Crooksville Archery Program and was a National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) instructor. His passion for archery was further demonstrated by his generous hosting of the Twin Cedars Archery club on his own property, fostering a love for the sport in many young archers in the area.
After more than two decades with Treadway in Zanesville, Kevin retired to embrace a new chapter in life—a full-time Papaw. His grandsons brought unmatched joy and purpose to his life, and he devoted countless hours to being present for them. When the boys would call he would immediately be on board to engage in various activities, from hunting and archery to sports. Kevin was such a dedicated Papaw that he would go to practices and would learn all of the plays, he was always their biggest supporter and fan. He taught the boys to ride dirt bikes and four wheelers, and while they were in school he would work rebuilding and restoring vintage motorcycles and dirt bikes for them to ride. Kevin’s sentimental nature shone through in the meaningful gifts he shared and the legacy he sought to pass down to his family. A dedicated member of the American Motorcycle Association, Kevin's love for motorcycles was more than a pastime; it was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and zest for life. He was, above all, known as a universal Papaw, not just to his own grandchildren but to many who found comfort and joy in his kind and nurturing demeanor. Kevin's consistency and unwavering support made him a pillar of strength within his family and community. He was a loving dad and grandpa, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and a profound impact on those who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever be cherished by all whose lives he touched in his remarkable journey through life.
Left to mourn his passing are the love of his life for the last 27 years, Cathy Miller; his children, Deana Pritchard (Kevin Burgess) and Sarah (Tyler) Craig; his sister, Sherlynn (Judd) Mullen and his darling grandchildren and buddies, Wyatt, Gunner, Beau and Reed Craig; his uncle and aunt, Frank and Linda Pritchard; his nieces, Lisa Mullen and Kimberly Mullen Foster and their families; many life long friends and cousins. He also leaves behind the dear Treadway Family who he considered to be part of his own.
In addition to his parents, Kevin is preceded in death by his brother, Kent Pritchard and his granddaughter, Tessa Louise Pritchard.
The Pritchard family welcomes all those who would like to pay their final respects from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM, Monday, May 12, 2025 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville.
