Juanita Marie "Bonnie" Matis, 85 of New Lexington, formerly of Sayre, passed away peacefully at 3:30 AM, Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Genesis Healthcare in New Lexington following an extended illness. She was born March 28, 1928 the daughter of Pearl Street, Sr. and Ida (Allen) Street. She married the late Charles J. "Mac" Matis and was Methodist by Faith.
Juanita was a homemaker and was a fan of country music. She enjoyed jig saw and word search puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her daughter and cat: Patches.
She is survived by her daughter: Judy A. Matis of New Lexington; one brother: Larry Street of Kingston; one brother-in-law: Jim Horn of Sayre; sister-in-law: Ann Street of Newark; her husband's sisters and their families; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband: Mac who died September 19, 1982; two sisters: Freda White and Johanna Horn; two brothers: Pearl Street, Jr. and Richard Street; sisters-in-law: Shirley Street and Betty Street; a niece Sandra (Street) Spung and nephews: Drew Street, Bill White and Gary "Poke" White.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 Buckeye Street, Crooksville where Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday with Rev. Dick Newlon officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, who she dearly missed each day, in Zion Cemetery, Portersville.
