Joseph Elmer Wilson, 82, of Thornville, passed away, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Thornville Health & Rehabilitation Center in Thornville following an extended illness.
Joe was born September 11, 1934 in Crooksville, the son of the late, Lou and Mildred (Grube) Wilson.
Joe retired as an assembler from Rockwell International in Newark. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Crooksville.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of twenty-three years, Shirley (Rosser) Wilson of the home, his daughters, Jodi (David) Stickdorn of Thornville, Kim (Brian) Spring, of Crooksville and JoAnn Fleming of Crooksville; his son, Ron Wilson of Crooksville; his sisters, Janet Pompey of Zanesville and Judy (Merl) Trout of Lancaster and his seven grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Carr, Nathan Wilson, Jason Wilson, Natalie Fletcher, Timmy Stickdorn, Leigh Spring and Kyle (Kathleen) Fleming.
In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sue Wilson; his son, Jim Wilson and his grandson, Joseph Stickdorn.
Family and friends will be received, 3:00 PM-8:00 PM, Monday, December 19, 2016 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Joe's life will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 20 at the funeral home with Stan McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery in McLuney.
