Joann Marolt

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joann Marolt, who peacefully left this world on May 18, 2024, at her home in Zanesville, OH. Born on September 17, 1938, Joann was a cherished member of her community and a beloved matriarch of her family. Throughout her life, she found joy in the company of her loved ones, known for perfectly manicured lawn, and grit determination, and her favorite saying, "I am Joann Marolt."

Joann's family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Don) Linnemann, and her sons, Charles Marolt, Jr., and Michael (Peggy Taylor) Marolt. Additionally, Joann is survived by her cherished siblings;  Joy Hostetter, Carla Christy, Sharon (Merle) Pierce, Judith Crossen, Kathy Dollings, James Bowen, and her beloved grandchildren, Kassandra Linnemann and Jessica Linnemann, Zachary Linnemann and Scott Linnemann, all of whom she held dear to her heart.

Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and Joann was an active member of the Church of the Atonement in Crooksville, Ohio, where she found solace and community. Her unwavering faith touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Joann was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Marolt, Sr., her beloved daughter, Pamela Marolt, her Father and Mother, Stanley Bowen and Elizabeth (Collins) Bowen, and her siblings, Cindy Folwer, Betty Spencer, Donna Printz, Tammy Jones, Patricia Short, Dempsy Bowen.

In this time of profound loss, let us remember Joann Marolt for her steadfast determination and the love she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace, forever cherished in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers Joann’s family would like donations to be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, where Joann was cared for by the staff in her final days.

Friends and family are welcome to attend her Graveside Service at St. Joseph Cemetery, 12819 Township Rd. 1206 NE, Crooksville, OH 43731, on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, at 11:00 am.
