J.O. Rider Neff, 68, of Newark Rd., Nashport, Ohio passed away at 2:18 A.M., Monday, February 15, 2010 at the residence of his sister-in-law in Newark after an extended illness. He was born April 20, 1941 in Zanesville, the son of the late James Otis and Edith (Rider) Neff. J.O. was an employee of the Longaberger Co., attended Marne United Methodist Church in Newark and was a member of Peerless Lodge 591 F. & A.M. in Crooksville.
He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Valerie (Young) Neff; his daughters, Jodi (David) Stickdorn of Thornville and Karen Sue Wilson of Gallipolis; his son, Jim Wilson of New Lexington; his aunt, Gladys Rider of Thornville; his grandchildren, Timmy Stickdorn, Nicole (Chris) Carr, Natalie (Ryan) Fetcher, Nathan and Jason Wilson and eight great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Carol (Roger) Inlow of Newark; his nephews, Kerry (Stephanie) Cramer and Kevin (Kathy) Cramer; his nieces, Keila (Bryan) Henderson and Kelly (Brett) Floyd. In addition to his parents, J.O. was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Stickdorn, five aunts and two uncles.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, February 17 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where Masonic services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 18 at the funeral home with Pastor Gus Christo-Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
